An evergreen tree, Eucalyptus regnans is the tallest of the eucalypts, growing to 70–114.4 m (230–375 feet), with a straight, grey trunk, smooth-barked except for the rough basal 5–15 metres (16–49 ft). The leaves are falcate (sickle-shaped) to lanceolate, 9–14 centimetres (3.5–5.5 in) long and 1.5–2.5 centimetres (0.6–1.0 in) broad, with a long acuminate apex and smooth margin, green to grey-green with a reddish petiole. It's not what you think - tramps, or better yet, tramping is when you set out on a long distance walk or hike with at least one overnight stay. But Tongariro Alpine Crossing also has a cultural significance. The crossing passes over the volcanic terrain of the active volcano Mt. Tongariro, which creates landscapes that feel "moon like." Waiotapu is an active geothermal area at the southern end of the Okataina Volcanic Centre, just north of the Reporoa caldera, in New Zealand's Taupo Volcanic Zone. Red Beach is a suburb and beach on the Hibiscus Coast, Orewa, New Zealand. But the majority of traffic travels along the Northern motorway inland instead, and the motorway will be redesignated as State Highway 1 when an extension is complete in 2009. [Source]
This two story beach house is located at Piha North, a northern New Zealand coastal settlement. The site with which we were presented was extremely challenging in that it was 90% covered in mature pohutukawa trees, the site being a part of a continuous belt of forest that edges the road along the beach front. The colorful Champagne Pool or Champagne Pool was located in Waiotapu geothermal area in the North Island of New Zealand. Its formed by a hydrothermal eruption 900 years ago. The crater has a diameter of about 213 feet and the 160 degree Fahrenheit geothermal pool is 230 feet deep. But before you take a dip, you might like to know it’s hot — over 160 °F. The name Champagne Pool is derived from the abundant efflux of carbon dioxide (CO2), similar to a glass of bubbling champagne. The colours are in part formed by sulfur and arsenic.
